Our 2025-26 season is called DECODE; have a look at our progress and the robot!
DECODE Kickoff '25 ⚡️⚙️🤖
Our first FTC event of this season was Kickoff! Most of our team members were able to join, as the SoCal FTC revealed the theme of the season (DECODE)! During this event, we explored the different aspects of a successful and driven team. Some workshops we attended were about FTC Awards, how to nail the Engineering Portfolio, the Limelight 3A Camera, and more.
From this Kickoff, we successfully met our rival teams and the ideas everyone has! Thank you all to those who attended this event with us, and good luck this season! 🤖
Our First Progress In The Season (First Robot!)
We based our first robot off of the starter bot instructions in order to have something quick for the first meet while still making sure it was personalized to us. Our robot uses a ramp and wheels to launch the balls into the area.
Making sure everything fit well was a difficulty, and sometimes, the sizing made us add, change, or even rebuild parts. However, we were great with working independently and not relying on the instructions! We were able to learn from our mistakes and build off of our base robot, making everything unique. Our members are always learning as we proceed with the robot!
Our Second Step — (Second Robot)
Our second robot took aspects of many different robots we thought worked well, which were then modified to fit our resources, time and skills. Throughout designing this second robot, we had many heated debates about the intake, storage, launcher, and transfer system.
Our robot uses a surgical tubing intake, as well as surgical tubing pushers to continously move the ball throughout our 3D printed storage. Our storage has a curved corner to allow the artifacts to slide easily into place. We have a metal beam pusher to prevent the artifacts from being pushed into the artifacts until it has reached target velocity. Our launcher is also 3D printed.
